April–Child abuse prevention month

Children have the right to be safe. Adults have the responsibility to ensure this basic right for all children. You can make a report of child abuse by calling, writing, or visiting your county Department of Social Services, the Child Protective Services Division at 106 E. Morgan Street, Brevard, NC or by calling 828.884.3174.

Any person or institution who has cause to suspect that a child is being abused or neglected is required by law to report.

SHARING A HOLIDAY ACT OF KINDNESS

THE ADOPT-A-CHILD OR FAMILY THIS YEAR BENEFITED MANY FAMILIES AND CHILDREN FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON. I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO THE MANY INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THAT ADOPTED THIS YEAR. YOUR GIVING SPIRIT MADE A DIFFERENCE AS WE HELPED TO PROVIDE CHRISTMAS TO FAMILIES WHO WERE IN NEED. THANK YOU FOR ASSURING THAT LESS FORTUNATE CHILDREN WERE ABLE TO HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY TOO!! WE GREATLY APPRECIATE THE COMMUNITY FOR BEING INVOLVED AND SUPPORTING OUR GOAL. THOUGHTFUL PEOPLE LIKE YOU REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE!! THANKS AGAIN FOR MAKING THE HOLIDAYS GREAT….AND HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR FILLED WITH PEACE, LOVE, AND LASTING HAPPINESS.
